July 31, 2005: Perhaps the most audacious counter-attack in the recent CCL history came from Kalpesh Bhakta of CSCCC when he gave the rampant FCCC bowling attack as good as he got and smacked them all round the park. With CSCC on the mat at 28/6, Kalpesh went on rampage and dropped missiles to various parts outside the perimeter of the stadia as he served up two 4's and six 6's in his 119 ball 97. The onslaught was so magnificent that while sharing a 101 run partnership, Mike Doig merely contributed 8 of those runs. When finally dismissed, via an absolute beauty of an in-cutter from Rajesh Idate that disturbed the very top of Kalpesh's middle and off, he had scored 97 in a total that read 129/7. Kalpesh deserved a hundred, but he won the Player of the Match award for his match-winning contribution of 97 runs and 2 wickets.
