Player Of The Week - Aug 17, 2017

 Bodhayan Chakraborty (LCC-L)

This weekend Cornerstone witnessed yet another ballistic innings from one of CCL’s most powerful batsmen. Bodhayan Chakraborty , is a name associated with powerful shots all around the ground, and both CCB and RCC bowlers were on the receiving end this past Saturday.

LCC-Lions played a double header and the day belonged to Bodha. In the first match against CCB, Bodha walked out with LCC in a dire situation with the score reading 3/3 in 2.1 overs. The top 3 were gone and against CCB, a big total was needed. Bodha took his time and was patient but when he started, he went all in. He blasted the ball all around the park. With 10 overs gone and only 48 on the board, Bodha decided to switch gears and take on everyone. His 50 came in 32 balls with 1x4 and 6x6s.

Bodha was averaging a boundary every over with most of those being huge maximums. It took Bodha 26 more deliveries to get to his 100. His wonderful innings came to an end in the 20th over finishing with 118 from 63 balls, smashing 3x4s and a whopping 13x6s. He was the lone star in the LCC innings, single handily giving LCC a fighting chance. He also bowled 2 overs and picked up a wicket but it was his bat that did the talking.

In the second match, Bodha continued his campaign of raining sixes. He didn’t hold back and let the bat loose again and tormenting the RCC bowlers by blasting 50 off just 26 balls. He was looking for another 100 and was knocking on the door for 200 runs in the day but came just short. He scored 72 off 35 balls, just 10 runs short from 200 runs in the day. He smashed 3x4s and 7x6s. He also picked up 2 wickets in his 3 overs but the story of the day was his bat. It was truly incredible hitting and the power that was displayed was phenomenal.

CCL would like to congratulate Bodhayan Chankraborty again for being picked as POTW for performance over the weekend.
