Player Of The Week - Feb 11, 2019

 Santosh Gaddam (CSCC)

CSCC's Santosh Gaddam was a good all-rounder find, bolstering its top order as an opening lefty batsman, a lefty off spinner and an awesome fielder both in the slips and on boundaries. He ended the season with 400+ runs, 14 wickets and 12 catches.

Against LCC-L, when a huge target of 274 was set for CSCC-Stars, Santosh played an attacking innings, playing some very stylish cricketing shots where he made 67 off 48 balls 81 off 40 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes, putting up some resistance to the LCC bowling attack. While CSCC was on the losing side, his batting provided some consolation to CSCC's reasonable fight back and a decent score on the board, and he also achieved his maiden CCL half-century and first in Twenty20. He had taken a good catch to get rid of danger man Bodha earlier, else the carnage could have been worse.

Against RCC, again Santosh held on to a good catch to get rid of danger man Vikesh who was on fire, perished on 77. He also bowled a miserly spell of 6-0-21-0. On the fight back, Santosh put on a batting display of finding the boundary with 10 fours and a six in his 69 off 56 balls, along with a 114 run opening partnership, that pretty much won the game for CSCC by 8 wickets. Santosh was judged as the Man of the Match for his all-round performance, along with achieving his second half-century in the season; his first in CCL Premier.

Other noteworthy performances of Santosh included:
Against ABQCC - His determination to play a sensible innings, saw him unbeaten at 59 off 60 with just 2 fours, but enough to put a decent defendable score, that CSCC won in a tense last over. This was his 3rd half-century. Santosh Gaddam was judged as the Man of the Match.
Against FRCC-B - A good batting effort for his 42 off 33 with 2 four and 2 sixes, with a good catch and runout. Santosh Gaddam was judged as the Man of the Match.
Against CCCC - Another decent batting performance of 33 runs off 43 balls with 3 fours and a six; and a miserly bowling spell of 4-0-5-1;
Against FCCC - Another decent batting performance of 32 runs off 41 balls with 1 four.
Against FCCC - In the Premier Plate finals, Santosh bowled an exceptional spell of 6.1-1-17-3 that saw CSCC as winners.

He had a total of 3 half-centuries, named Man of the Match a total of 3 times, CSCC's 2nd Most Run getter and Top 5 Bowlers in this 2018 season. He was also CCL's Rookie of the Year - Third Runner Up
