CWCB Chairman - Syed Shahnawaz

Gentlemen:

Thank you very much for having contributed towards the Central West Regional Cup in Houston. It was truly a memorable experience and I am confident that you all feel the same. On behalf of the region, I would like to commend and congratulate Tony Best and his team for hosting this event. Tony's tireless efforts clearly demonstrated his love and passion for the game. I would also like to thank Channi Bain, Sanjit Tayi, Yogesh Patel, Cameron Best, Ajit Patel, Danish and Herman for their immense contributions to the tournament. I am sure that there were several other individuals involved, I apologize if I have left any body's name out.

Houston took pride in hosting this event and I am sure Colorado cricket league will look forward to next years edition of the tournament. I spoke to the other leagues informally about CCL possibly hosting the event next year, the response I got was very encouraging. Jarrar, as always, please let us know on how we can help to make this a signature event for the region.

I would also like to congratulate NTCA for having won the championship, it was a perfect final with both teams displaying their competitiveness. Newcomers CCL and CTCL clearly demonstrated their potential and interest to perform well, I am sure that over the coming years they will be a force to reckon with. Congratulations to CCL on winning the plate championship, unfortunately the trophies that were ordered did not arrive on time. Tony has promised to look into it and will take care of the problem ASAP. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. The selection committee is in the process of naming a 22 member probable list for the Central West team, I will pass that information along as soon as it is available.

The youth tournament was another feather to the cap in the region, I appreciate Vinod Bhakta's efforts in managing the tournament. It was simply amazing to see the talent levels displayed by some of the kids. The junior selection committee picked a 15 member squad as well to represent the CW region. I will be announcing the team as soon as I have a few things clarified.

The following players were recognized for their outstanding performance during the tournament:

Asif Mohammed (HCL) --- MVP
Rahul Kukreti (NTCA) -- Best Batsman
Vamshi Kyatham (CCL) -- Best Batsman
Usman Shuja (HCL) --- Best Bowler

Please note that Vamshi Kyatham has been named the Best Batsman as well, unfortunately, last minute confusion made us overlook stats correctly. On behalf of the region, I personally would like to apologize to Vamshi and I sincerely hope that he understands our situation. Congratulations for your outstanding performance.

Sanjit, can you please make corrections on your web site accordingly?

It was really heartening to see several family members accompany teams, I would like thank them for the support as well.

Again, CCL, CTCL, HCL and NTCA thanks for contributing directly or indirectly to make this tournament a successful one.

The tournament pictures are available at http://www.desiarcade.com/cwcb/cw.html

I hope you all enjoy it.
