CSCC Vs YCC: Premier game, 11-Aug-2012 - Reported by Kervyn Dimney(CSCC)
YCC won the toss and elected to bat. While the openers did not stick along for too long, Niyaz and Deepak played sensibly to stop the fall of wickets, with Deepak Appu taking the charge and playing some well hit shots for his CCL career best of 40 runs. The other YCC batsman chipped in, but struggled to let loose against CSCC's spin bowler Ajay Mahendru who ended up being the pick of the CSCC bowlers with yet another 4 wicket haul and a well assisted run out that saw YCC perish to 115 all out in 38 overs.
CSCC started off positively with Kervyn and Narayan opening the innings, and quickly put up some valuable runs on the board with some big hits and good running between wickets. At the end of the first break CSCC were comfortably at 51 for no loss.
CSCC continued to add to the scoreboard, ticking away at 76 for no loss. As part of their Sportsman's Spirit, the YCC team graciously re-called Kervyn after an LBW decision. A well judged catch from Sanjeev Swarnkar later got rid of Kervyn(42).
Narayan continued to play an anchor role throughout the CSCC innings remaining unbeaten with 30*, and Asim clearing the boundary a couple of times, him too remaining unbeaten with 21 runs, seeing CSCC cross the finish line with ease in 21 overs.
For his 42 runs, a catch, and a tight opening bowling spell of 8-1-9-1, Kervyn Dimney was declared the Man of the Match.
