CSCC @ LCC: Premier Semi-Final, October 7, 2012 - Reported by Raj Chitikila (LCC)
Colorado Springs Cricket Club clashed with Littleton Cricket Club at Cornerstone Park for the right to play in the Premier league Championship game. LCC won the toss and elected to bat. Hamayun struck immediately, trapping Jay lbw in the 2nd over of the game. Ramesh steadied the ship and supported Dhiren who was middling the ball quite well. CSCC helped LCC keep the scoreboard ticking by bowling an astounding 45 wides on the day, perhaps hampered by the cold morning temperatures. After Dhiren (48, 5x4, 3x6) was well-caught by Raymond, the other LCC batsmen played useful cameos to get the score up to 189/8 in 40 overs. For CSCC, Abhay and Narayan got 2 wickets each.
The script so far was identical to the last time the two clubs met in a Premier league game back in August when LCC posted 188 batting first. In that earlier game, LCC was able to get the breakthrough in the first over itself, but this time dropped a catch from Narayan in the first over. Emboldened by the chance, Narayan (11) gave solid support to Kervyn who came out with all guns blazing. Two quick strikes by Jay and Bodha saw off Narayan and Rohit before the first drinks break. However, the 2nd session belonged entirely to CSCC. Asim (22) helped Kervyn put on 100 runs for the 3rd wicket, and at 155/2 at the end of 30 overs, CSCC's chase seemed to be as good as complete. Then Bodha got the key wicket of Kervyn, who felt unlucky to be given lbw, in the 31st over. Kervyn had scored a monumental 98 in 89 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes. More importantly, this gem of an innings came without giving a single chance. Still, with just 33 runs required in 9 overs and 7 wickets in hand, CSCC was firmly in control. Then followed an incredible last session. Jay promptly dismissed Asim and Hamayun in the 32nd over. Just when it looked like Jayant and Ajay would romp home easily after scoring some big hits, Jayant (15 in 16) got run out after a mix-up. The runs kept coming but the wickets kept falling, partly due to superb crunch-time bowling by Sundeep. Finally, CSCC needed just 2 runs off the last over with their last wicket pair at the crease. Unfortunately, the batsmen took off for a non-existent single on the first ball, and Jay got Ajay easily run out giving LCC a 1 run win. A nail-biting finish to an incredible game. For LCC, Jay led with 3 wickets, followed by Bodhayan and Sundeep with 2 each.
Man of the Match: Kervyn Dimney was declared MoM for his dominant 98 in 89 balls.

RBCC Vs CCB - Lincoln, Ft. Collins - Semi-Final 1, 9th October 2012 - Reported By Misbah-Ur-Rehman (RBCC)
Lincoln, Fort Collins was the venue for CCB and RBCC to fight for the spot in the championship final. RBCC won the toss and elected to bat first. In the morning RBCC struggled, with ball not coming on the bat and doing a bit. Misbah and Faiq opened the innings. RBCC lost their first wicket in the first over when Faiq tried to chip the ball over mid on and got caught. This was a big setback for RBCC, as he has been instrumental in giving RBCC quick starts. RBCC lost Ben when score was 31 and certainly RBCC was under pressure.
Then so typical of RBCC, the belief and attitude to do it for the team kicked in. Salman came in, though it was his first real shot with the bat this season started to play his natural game and the ball started to clear the fences. Misbah supported him by rotating strike. Salman and Misbah put in 74 and RBCC were on track to post 200+. RBCC lost both Misbah and Salman when score was 104. RBCC again had to bring out their never die spirit to put the total on the board and RBCC had their best player under pressure Ishan Rao to anchor the innings for them. As expected he did it again. Ishan was phenomenal in rebuilding the innings for RBCC he scored 62 from 50 balls. He got good support from Ishan P and Jay scoring 12 and 11 respectively. Also CCB had a bad day in the field where they dropped 4+ catches.
Going out in the field RBCC was unstoppable. Ishan, Altaf and Jay gave RBCC a perfect start for their spinners to dominate. He and Altaf started the innings and got the 3 quick wickets with Ishan taking 2 and Altaf taking 1 with a beautiful in swinger. Although Mayur started off with a boundary and a six but Ishan got rid off him off a well judged catch on his own bowling. CCB was on the back foot with 3 wickets gone for 25. Then Satyam and Vamshi started to rebuild the innings. But RBCC was able to keep a check on their run rate. This provided an ideal platform for quality spinners like Drumeel and Tahir to run through CCBs batting line up. Drumeel took the wicket of Vamshi and then got Manjeet bowled of a beauty. This was a typical offspinner’s dismissal just short of length, spinning and went through his defenses. This opened the floodgates and CCB only managed to score 80 with Drumeel taking 5 and Tahir chipping in with 2. The only resistance was shown by Satyam with 24 to his name
RBCC won by 117 runs.
MoM: Drumeel and Ishan Rao were declared men of the match.
