Anchors Vs HNR - Erie - 08/10/2013 -- Reported by Ravi Dixit(Anchors)

It was an early morning match between Anchors and HitNRun, a game between the siblings. HitNRun won the toss and let the ANCHORS bat first.
Bharat and Sachin opened the innings for Anchors. They started well with singles and twos and hitting occasional boundaries. While both were looking good, Bharat got out to a superb catch at short covers by Arun Singaraju. Das, the first down for Anchors, started carefully. While Sachin at the other end was playing some good looking drives and flicks, Das accelerated Anchors scores to 80s in 9th overs. He got out when he tried to pull a ball to a big one, but was caught to a well judged catch by Vishnu. Anchors lost their 3rd wicket, the very next ball in the form of Vimal, who got bowled, trying to flick. Ravi Dixit and Sachin played carefully, hitting boundaries on the loose ones. Sachin who by then has spent enough time in the middle, tried to go for the big ones, but was caught by Chidaa on the long on. Then came Dixit Gandra, between Ravi Dixit and Dixit Gandra, runs were flowing non-stop for Anchors. Dixit Gandra (42 runs) hit some splendid sixes and fours. Finally Vivek (27 off 11 balls) who came in place of Ravi Dixit(25 off 20), showed some class form by hitting huge sixes and fours. Anchors ended their innings at 186.

Chasing 187 is never an easy task against any team on any grounds, but HitNRun was not ready to let it go so easily. HitNRun got in Vishnu and Sudheer to open the innings. Sudheer, who looked lethal from the ball one, played well and scored 12. He got out to caught behind on Ravi Dixit’s bowling. Vishnu, who is known for some good pulls, played his natural innings, being defensive on the good ones and hitting big ones on the loose ones. Since it was really huge target to chase, HitNRun batsmen were trying everything to get close to that score and were in fact getting success in doing so. Nitin, Vijay and Chida chipped in some runs with their double figure scores. On the other side, Anchors were sloppy with their fielding, letting go anything 3 feet away from the body to a boundary. Dropped some sitters and easy ones. Bowling was also mediocre with as many as 21 extras. With the luxury of a solid target to chase, Anchors tried new combination in their bowling. Vishnu, once again delivered for the HNR, played a very good innings to score 43 runs. HitNRun scored 160 by the end of 20th over a very fighting chase. So, the elder sibling won the game, while the younger one almost took an impossible game away.

MOM: Dixit Gandra for his 42.

Royal Warriors Vs Crazy Cricketers - Longmont- 08/10/2013 -- Reported by Ravi(RW)

After being sent to bat first, crazy cricketers got to a descent start with 22/1 in first 5 overs. Crazy Cricketers were bowled out for 61 in 19.5 overs.

Chasing a small target, RW got off to a shaky start with 2/2 in first 2 overs. Hari Shanmugam (36 n.o) anchored the innings with Sree Visakh (16) to drive RW home in 14.5 overs.

MOM: Sailesh B for his magical spell of 4/10 in 4 overs.

Challengers Vs Buffs - Longmont - 08/11/2013 -- Reported by Abhijeet(Buffs)

Buffs Innings: Pratik Patel (PP) and Ravi opened the innings. PP was in usual aggressive mode and was going after the bowlers. Ravi started well and rotated around. However, accurate bowling from Mangesh made Ravi to be stuck on the back foot and edging ball behind to the keeper. Ajinkya who came in at no. 3 met similar fate from another good delivery from Mangesh. PP on the other end had already struck a huge six over long on to Prasad and four as well. He was joined by Kaul and they started building a bit of a partnership. However, PP could not resist the temptation to go for another big hit over long on but mis timed a slower delivery and gave a simple catch to Venkat for well made 16. At this stage Buffs were in a precarious state 22/3 in 4 overs. Shiril came into the middle and along with Kaul started a slow but solid partnership. Both of them kept rotating for singles and doubles. Shiril hit a beautiful shot over covers for four just before the innings break. After 10 overs Buffs were 49/3.
Post the break Kaul tried to accelerate a bit while Shiril kept on building a good innings. Finally, after a good partnership of 50 plus between Kaul and Shiril, Kaul tried to pull one which rose on him and ended up giving a simple catch to the wicketkeeper and got out for 26 in the 16th over. The score read 77/4 and Shiril, having been dropped twice by Prasad, started attacking and Amarjit joined in as well. Both played some very good shots for fours and helped Buffs reach a good score of 102/6 in 20 overs. Shiril remained unbeaten on 37, while Amarjit scored a quick 11. Mangesh and Prasad bowled well from Challengers.

Challengers Innings: Arun opened the innings with Kaushik and both of them put the batsmen under pressure straight away. Venkat tried to take the attack to the opposition by hitting Arun for a 4 but Arun came back with a beautiful slower delivery and got the wicket of Venkat, who pulled it early and gave a simple catch to short mid-off. Kaushik got 2 quick wickets on the other end. After 7 overs Challengers were 21/4. The task ahead was uphill and it was made even difficult by some good fielding in the infield. Kaushik and Arun finished their spell with 2 wickets each. Niranjan bowled 1 over and had the batsmen clean bowled and got 1 wicket. Ravi and Siddharth kept up the pressure and took 2 wickets each as Buffs bowled out Challengers for 61, winning the match by 41 runs.

MOM: Shiril for his unbeaten 37

It was a warm humid day at Longmont, and per the team’s strategy to post a huge total Sidney Smashers elected to bat first after winning the toss. Siva was going strong despite of wickets falling around him. Just when things were going to go out of control Harsha provided a great support to Siva and built the innings when Siva got out after scoring handsome 40 (29) runs and Harsha followed soon after scoring elegant 24(13). The score read 80 for 5 in 9.5 overs and fresh batsmen Avinash and Ramu at the crease. Jaguars Vs SCC - Longmont - 08/11/2013-- Reported by Kuldeep(Jaguars)

Jaguars won the toss and elected to bat first. Being an early morning game with some due and partly cloudy conditions, Jaguars were running the risk of a slow outfield and dealing with a wet ball. However, they were counting on seeing off the early overs safely and taking advantage of being fresh in the morning. SCC, on the other hand were looking to get early breakthroughs and started off with a disciplined attack. As a result, Akshay fell early to a delivery outside the off stump from Divvy and nicely caught by Chaitanya. SCC continued to keep a tight line and length while Naveen M and Rushabh tried to keep the scoreboard ticking. Naveen M played some intelligent shots pushing the ball above the heads of the fielders inside the 30 yard circle until he was caught by M Otswal at mid-wicket. Rushabh continued to get the singled and doubles while the other Jaguars couldn’t really hold ground at the other end. Ran was caught by Jammula for 3 and Mrugesh was out for duck at deep mid-wicket trying to play a lofty shot off the very first ball he faced. None of the other Jaguars could make any significant contributions although Rushabh scored adefiant 51 before he was caught by Vissu off of Otswal while trying to accelerate further. SCC bowled great line and length to restrict the Jaguars under 100 runs with M Otswal being the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3.1-0-12-4.

A target of 93 on the Longmont ground was not going to be very easy and SCC realized that especially after the Jaguars’ performance in their previous game. Chaitanya and Vissu had very clear intentions as they tried to take singles off of almost every ball. As a result, Vissu was brilliantly run out to a direct throw by Boomi. Murali joined Chaitanya in the middle and tried to stabilize the innings with some intelligent batting. However, the Jaguars showed great resolve by sticking to a disciplined line and length and very soon Chaitanya was caught by Rushabh at mid-on to an out-going delivery from Mrugesh. The Jaguars got another run-out when Murali left stranded to a brilliant piece of fielding by Rana. Manoj, Rushabh, and AKshay kept pressure on the SCC batsmen and wickets kept falling in quick successions. E Arangan scored 9 while A Santhakrishnan made a fighting 15. None of the other SCC batsmen could really accelerate and were bundled out for a score of 67. Pankaj claimed 2 wickets with an amazing c&b for the last wicket, Mrugesh and Kuldeep got 1 wicket each, while the pick of the bowlers for the Jaguars was Manoj with figures of 4-0-14-3.

MOM: The umpires’ choice for the MoM was Rushabh Patel (Jaguars) for his knock of 51 runs and disciplined bowling (2-0-9-0).

Warriors Vs Chargers - Erie - 08/11/2013-- Reported by Madhu(Chargers)

Jignesh started off claiming a wicket in his first over. A direct hit by Veeresh ensured a run out and the openers were gone when the score was 10. Incoming batsmen Sandeep and Sudhir started cautiously. They put on a partnership of 112 for the third wicket and a very good bowling effort by Gaurav got the break through.Manohar was a victim of another brilliant catching from veeresh. It took till the last ball of the innings and great catch by Satya for the chargers to get the wicket of Sandeep who scored a brilliant 81 of 44 balls to lift the warriors total to 156. Jignesh was the quick among the chargers bowler claiming 3 of the 5 warriors wickets.

Denver Chargers knew it was not an easy task chasing 157, were off to a bad start loosing Rushi in the first. And then it was the time for Apurva to unleash himself and go after the warriors bowling. He took on warrior’s bowler Ravi and went on to score a T20 record of 34 runs in an over which included ruthless, consecutive six fours and a huge six over fine leg to end the over. This has laid the platform for chargers run chase and lifted the team spirit. Apurva got out in the next for 35 (11 balls) innings. Stanley looked good hitting a six on the leg side but immediately lost his wicket. Madhu and Gaurav who knew that there were still a lot of runs to chase played sensibly. They put on a partnership of 35 runs for the 4th wicket. After Gaurav got out, Veeresh joined Madhu and they were scoring freely .Madhu got out to a controversial decision by the umpire. As it was the second time in the innings they thought umpires were being unfair to chargers batsmen, Chargers thought of walking – over from the game protesting umpiring decisions. After a few discussions with the umpires the game continued and the Chargers were more poised and pumped up to win this game at any cost. Yugesh went in and smashed some meaty blows and scored a quick 22 of 12 balls. Deepu took the responsibility of taking the chargers over the line. He along with Ravi and Karthik scored some valuable runs. Couple of run out pulled back Chargers as the asking rate kept climbing. It all came down to the wire and Chargers needed 12 runs off the last over and Warriors’ needed one wicket to win the match. Sandeep who played a match winning innings in the first half was bowling the last over. With Deepu on strike, the first ball was a dot ball, next ball was a single followed by a dot ball. This has turned the match towards Warriors’ as Chargers required 11 runs of the last three deliveries. Vaibhav hit a four and chargers needed 7 runs of the last two, next ball Vaibhav took 2 runs and 5 runs were needed of the last delivery. With everyone anticipating a warrior’s win the match Vaibhav smacked a Six over long-on and won the match. Chargers burst into joy. Deepu 19(19) balls played a crucial innings at the end.

MOM:Sandeep was adjusted MOM for this innings of 81 and 1 wicket.
