Congratulations to Kervyn Dimney (CSCC) on reaching the 5000 run milestone in CCL cricket!
Kervyn Dimney is the first CCL player to officially reach the 5000 runs mark. (See PDF of Statistics) or (See Most Runs Stats)
He made his debut under auspicious conditions. It was the first game being played on the newly laid Memorial Park ground. It was also the club’s first game under it’s new name – it was formally called One World CC. It was also my first game as CSCC’s captain. Like Kris Srikant and Gundappa Vishwanath, he started off with a duck. But look at what he has achieved since.

205* wickets (See Bowling Statistics)

I’ve been fortunate to see Kervyn blossom into a fearsome batsman who has single handedly transformed CSCC into a cricket powerhouse within CCL. Even on the thick grassy grounds of Colorado, teams have started putting a third man in the hope that he miscues one of his full blooded hits that normally sail over and beyond the ropes.
Kervyn is not just a good player. He is a born leader. He likes to get involved. He wants to lead from the front. He loves challenges and will never shy away from one. He is aggressive in his approach, which sometimes get misread as being too pushy. He likes to get to the bottom of things but it is always with the intention of doing things better. He is devoted to the game and will do all he can to promote it.
Kervyn loves cricket. Its possibly his second love after his family. He has a loving wife and three children. They are all proud of his achievements both on and off the field.
When Kervyn first joined us at practice back in 2003, I immediately saw his potential. His drives would shoot past the cover fielder like bullets from a shot gun. He also had a mean outswinger that was even more pronounced with the 2 piece Kookaburra. We knew we had a great find.
I’ve been fortunate to see some great innings from him. His 142 not out at Longmont still stands out as a piece of genius. It was a chanceless inning with clean hits that landed in the creek. The partnership was worth 217 runs in some 15 overs !
I have yet to see someone bowl quicker than Kervyn. Not ball speed – I’m talking about over speed. I’ve timed him get thru an over in 90 seconds. Before the batsman can look up, Kervyn is ready to let go of the ball. When you hear the word ‘steady’ you better be ready.
I wish him and his family all the very best. Keep them coming.
Congratulations to Kervyn Dimney(CSCC) on reaching the 5000 run milestone in CCL cricket!
During Kervyn's knock of 14* against BCC on August 9th, 2014, Kervyn became the first CCL player to reach this milestone since the league statistics have been recorded. He has scored these runs at a strong average of 30 and has compiled 6 centuries and 28 half-centuries through his illustrious CCL career. To go with the runs, he also recently went past the 200 wicket tally and is currently 5th on the wicket-taking list.
The CCL EC would like to congratulate Kervyn on behalf of CCL on his monumental achievement! Well done!
