2017 RMSG Cricket - Leatherball - Finals - Match Summary Reports

LCC vs FRCC; RMSG Finals, Aug 29, 2017 – Reported by Shoaib Dilawar(LCC)

LCC and FRCC both came into finals of RMSG 2017 unbeaten, FRCC winning convincingly over Aspen CC in semifinals and LCC winning a close game against FCCC in their semifinals.

LCC won the toss and elected to bat first. Nayab and Dharam gave a steady start frequently rotating the strike reaching 50 in 7ov scoring 70% of runs in singles and doubles. First breakthrough came for FRCC with Nayab being runout on 28 (2 x 4s).

Bodha was promoted up the order to go in and show some fireworks. With his rapid scoring, LCC was 99/2 with 3 overs to spare. FRCC bowled well in depth overs only allowing 16 runs in last 3 overs. Bodha got injured in last over and had to retire hurt. LCC set a target of 116 in 15 overs for FRCC.

FRCC sent in Sumeet and Amal and from the very 1st ball it was Sumeet Khule’s show. He was timing everything so nicely and sending the ball out of the park in all directions. With star bowlers missing and injured Bodha, Sumeet had a blast with rapid fire 50(27b 4x4 4x6), taking FRCC to 64 in just 5 overs.

With rain getting heavier, Bodha was brought into attack but it was too late as Sumeet was middling everything. In next 2 overs FRCC added 24 more runs taking the score to 90/0 in 7 overs. Rain got much heavy and hence game was called off at this stage, FRCC declared winners of the RMSG 2017.

Man of the Match: Sumeet Khule was awarded MoM for his brilliant knock with the bat 74* (36b 4x4 7x6)
