A THANK YOU card from the Youth Cricket Camp kids to CSCC Coaches/Volunteers.
The first Youth Cricket Camp in Colorado Springs came to a close this past week, with Thursday being the final day of the camp, where the kids got to play a cricket match and had a lot of fun.
The Youth Cricket Camp was conducted over two weeks only on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2 hours starting on 10-Jul till 19-Jul. We had about 20 kids that participated, some of them being our very own kids.
A bunch of CSCC players were able to plan, coach and volunteered during this camp. The kids had a great time learning the basics, through activities that were fun and well paced with lots of little breaks to keep their attention and to replenish on water/gatorade.
CSCC had received a grant from the El Pomar Foundation and therefore the cost of the camp was kept very nominal. The participants were given a CSCC Uniform Shirt and at the end of the camp all participants were presented with a participation trophy.
Some of the kids showed exceptional talent and the parents committed to spread the word around and possibly introduce cricket in their kid's schools. We are looking forward to organizing a follow up weekend camp so that the kids can come back and really learn the game. We would also like to attract kids from Denver to our camp.
The kids were really appreciative with their kind words as seen in their THANK YOU card to the CSCC Coaches/Volunteers.
