Match Summary of games played for Ball Testing.

Northern Kooks vs Northern Specials - Sunday 20-Jan-2019 10am - Lower Acre Gardens, Longmont - Reported by Subhashish Dash

A practice game in the middle of snow season is always fun. Huge turnover to test out the new ball and the players were divided to two teams with equal strength. Rohit, the captain of Northern Kooks won the toss and had no hesitation to bat first.

Vivek and Rohit opened the batting for Kooks and Specials opened the bowling with Subhashish, the captain and Shiril. Subhashish started off a bit wayward, but Shiril was right on point and removed Rohit with a good inswinger. Sandeep got in and stitched a partnership with Vivek - the pick of batsman for Kooks. Notably, the reverse scoop off the bowling of Chari was a delight to watch. Tushara picked up in the middle and smoked the bowling of Specials. Specials captain Subbu was more pertinent on testing out all the bowlers, bowling as many as 10 bowlers. Alas, Rahul Parikh and Vaibhav tried to consolidate, but in the end Kooks managed only 166/10 in about 30 overs. Spinners - Sudhir and Anil were the pick of their bolwers as they shared 5 wkts amongst themselves.

Specials started the chase with Anil and Waqas. While Waqas didn't do much, Anil played some delightful strokes and scored a wonderful half-century. Subhashish played the anchor role well before holing out a widish ball to the deep. In the end, Rahul Ahire played with intent to finish the game off along with Sudhir. While Specials were good in patches with the bowling, but they were never in the game after the brilliant strokeplay of Anil.

Man of the Match: Anil for his 50 and 2 wkts in the game for Northern Specials.
