CSCC-Stars @ LCC-Tigers : Twenty20 : 9:00 AM Saturday, August 27th,2023, at Cornerstone Park, Littleton – Reported by Guru Nishok(CSCC)

Cornerstone Park welcomed CSCC-Stars with wet outfield conditions while the sun was finding its way to break the clouds, helping us Stars and Tigers to enjoy some good cricket on Sunday. The umpires Sumeet and Shri Shailesh officiated the game where Santosh Reddy Gaddam won the toss and put the home team to bat first.

Controlled start from the LCC-Tigers Sandip and Sakthivel came in to bat to face the duo of quick Tristan and Mystery bowler Narayan. Both adapted to the conditions pretty quickly and found gaps to collect those runs of the powerplay. Bowlers came in exceptionally well to create those chances only to the find their fielders not supporting them. Agony it was! However, consistency of Narayan, fetched the first break through getting Sandip for 23(20) with 3 fours caught by Chandran at covers. Manoj came in at 3 was playing a good hand with Sakthivel and took LCC-Tigers to the first break scoring 63-1 in 10 overs.

Stars finishing off well With 9 wickets in hand for LCC-Tigers, it was a huge advantage to post a big total. Nishok started off the proceedings to get Sakthivel 23(32) with 1 four. Full Credits to Velmurugan for his presence of mind. Nishok got Vaibhav while followed his partner after his short stay in the crease scoring 1(2) as a leg before wicket. Santosh came in from the other end getting Sudipta for a 0(2). Well, that slid very quick through his defense. Manoj played a good hand before he got out to Santosh for 40(32) with 4 fours and 2 sixes beautifully judged and caught by Kangesh at deep square leg. Kervyn’s bulls’ eye to hit the target came into picture to dismiss Manish for 13(15). Kangesh got the left hander Sam for 6(11) caught convincingly well by the debutant Jeyanth at Point. Tristan finished the 20th over with steaming pace getting the wickets of Gowtham R for 0(1) and Vishal Mali for 0(1). At the end of 20 overs, LCC-Tigers put on 117-9.

SANsational start for Stars Chandran and Santosh walked in, and as usual skip took the strike. LCC-Tigers started off with Sandip and Krishiv. Santosh played his natural game, with his powerful shots. The runs kept flowing in with no problem at all. On the other end, Chandran got run out for 7(9). But then, Santosh kept his guns loaded which fired some insane hits to the fence. He scored 24 runs off Manoj in the 5th over and took Vishal downtown reaching his Half-Century in style. But then, bowling change got Vaibhav and he dismissed Santosh for 53(25) with 5 fours and 5 sixes.

LCC-Tiger fight back With the damage already done by the skipper, all the batters had to do was simply finish the game. But then, LCC-Tigers found a way to get quick wickets. Vishal got Kervyn for 0(2) as a leg before wicket. Vaibhav dismissed the set Velmurugan 15(15) with 2 fours. Hamayun followed his partner for 1(5) caught by Vishal at long-on. A good set up by Sam Oyitch also, fetched the wicket of Pravin at deep mid-wicket. Fumble by the CSCC-Stars batters did create a panic in the dug-out, and to ease it a little came the rescuers Tristan and Narayan who stitched a partnership and made it across the finish line scoring 19*(19) with 3 fours and 5*(12) respectively, thus chasing down the target of 118 in 16.3 overs and winning by 4 wickets.

Player of the Match: Santosh Reddy Gaddam Yet another masterclass all-round innings from the skip. Truly made us all awe with his crafting strokes along with some calculated aggression. This will be his 8th Half-Century in Twenty20 formats. Overs after over, his spell narrated a story of persistence and with strategic brilliance. Many more of this to come from you for Colorado Springs Cricket Club. Congrats Santosh!! #SANTU99
